"Baby Mama" is one of many movies that have thrust Saturday Night Live actors and actresses into Hollywood stardom. Kate (Tina Fey) has put off her personal life to make a successful career, and at age 37 decides she wants to have a baby. The doctors tell her she has almost no chance of being pregnant on her own, and she is denied adoption privileges. She meets up with Angie (Amy Poehler) and Angie agrees to be Kate's surrogate mom. Angie moves in with Kate after becoming homeless, and the charades begin. We learn that Angie is not being completely honest with Kate about the baby, and her childish behavior causes Kate to have to juggle not only her career, but also taking care of Kate and the unborn baby, and getting to know her new boyfriend, the juice cafe owner Rob (Greg Kinnear). Kate and Angie end up going to court to have a decision made on who gets to be the lawful mother of the unborn baby, and after the court ruling Angie goes into labor. Kate rushes to her side and after a fainting scare, finds out some news of her own. Without giving away the entire story, suffice it to say everyone gets what they truly needed in the end, and they all lived happily ever after in post-SNL bliss.
