Chapter 27 is a feature film based on the life of Mark David Chapman (Jared Leto) the man who in 1980 assassinated music legend and Beatle, John Lennon. This film chronicles the weeks and events that lead up to Chapman’s murder of Lennon, and how he became obsessed with his victim. In many ways Chapman is a very troubled man and is not able to function properly with society. He struggles greatly with his interpersonal relationships and his occupation. This struggle manifests slowly into hate and a desire to kill a man at the forefront of the anti-violence revolution in America.
