On the night before Christmas, a magical steam engine headed for the North Pole stops to pick up a boy who is beginning to doubt the meaning of Christmas. Once he decides to join the children on the train, the adventures begin. Thrilling animation rockets the train over roller-coaster drops in Glacier Gulch, through a heart-stopping skid on a lake of ice, and finally to North Pole City where the boy and his friends find themselves face to face with "The Big Man" at the moment of the first gift of Christmas. Tom Hanks performs six different roles in this modern Christmas classic based on the book by Chris Van Allsburg.
