The film Fast Food Nation is a fictionalized adaption of Eric Schlosser's book of the same title. It explores the same themes as his non-fiction book, tracing the causes of the prevalence of fast food in our culture, it's effects on the workers in the various industries that support it, and its physical effects on its consumers. Various characters involved in the fast food industry appear, a marketing executive for the fictional fast food company Mickey's (Greg Kinnear), a Mexican immigrant (Catalina Sandino Moreno) who works in a meat-packing plant, and some of the teenagers that work behind the counter at Mickey's. The film, like the book, has a strong point of view that fast food is dangerous and the industry is corrupt.
